Korea Open 2013: Sony Dwi Kuncoro tames Yong Zhao Ashton Chen in Men’s Singles round-of-16

Indonesia’s talented player Sony Dwi Kuncoro proved his mettle on court as he played with remarkable precision and managed to crush Singapore’s Yong Zhao Ashton Chen in Men’s Singles round-of-16 at Victor Korea Open 2013 on Thursday, January 10, in Korea.

The experienced Kuncoro, who has been putting up strong show for the last few months, showed his aggression on court and he easily thrashed Yong Ashton while consuming 42 minutes in the arena.

Indonesian player put up smashing show of top class badminton and he remained successful in taming his Singaporean challenger in straight sets with a commanding lead on the score board.

Meanwhile, Yong Zhao tried to give his hundred percent but he failed to shake the confidence of his in-form Indonesian challenger and ultimately went down without taking any game.

Kuncoro performed extremely well from the initial points of first set as he played with amazing speed and grabbed the control.

Kuncoro showed that he has attained top quality skills in the arena and eventually successful in getting a strong position in the arena.

It was Kuncoro who showed no respect to his spirited rival in the first half and secured a tremendous lead in the arena.

The battle proceeded in the same way after the mid-game interval as Kuncoro did not lose his control in the arena.

Kuncoro did not slow down the pace of the game at any stage and easily bagged the first game with a stunning 21-14 margin on the board.

In the second set, Kuncoro played with stunning speed without leaving any room for Yong Zhao to find a good flow.

Until the one-minute interval, the incredible Kuncoro remained consistent in playing with command and variations and remained ahead on the board.

Kuncoro was calm and composed in the arena in the final points of second set and won the second game with a superb difference of 21-13.

The in-form Kuncoro proved his worth in the arena and secured his place in Men’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Yong Zhao in the round-of-16 clash in straight games with a commanding 21-14 and 21-13 score on the board.
