The Diamondbacks right fielder still considering his chances in Arizona

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ right fielder Justin Upton still wants to consider his options for the team where he played in the last Major League Baseball season.

Justin Upton has rejected an offer from the Seattle Mariners franchise who wanted him to sign a lengthy contract for big bucks. The Diamondbacks and Mariners management has confirmed this big news as well.

Upton last played for the Diamondbacks in 2012 Major League Baseball season and performed quite well with an exceptional hitting average of .280 along with 17 home runs, 67 RBIs and .355.

Not only in the last Major League outing, but Upton has been a consistent performer in the Diamondbacks since his arrival. He currently holds a career .278 hitting average along with 108 home runs, 363 RBIs and .357 OBP.

“It’s hard to tune it out, You hear everything, obviously from you guys when you ask me questions or things like that. Other than that, I try to focus on today. Today I’m in a Sedona Red uniform and I’m prepared to do what I’ve got to do.” Upton said recently about his future.

The Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson also looks confident when he said about Upton recently, “I think the best thing for Justin is to play, Maybe things have been more magnified because we had the break and there are a lot of rumors out there. It’s just part of the game. He understands that. These things have been going on for years and years.”

Experts believe that it is a healthy sign that Upton will potentially stay in the Diamondbacks. This will provide the Diamondbacks a good offence in the next baseball season.

Eric Hinske and Jason Kubel are also there to help the Diamondbacks along with Justin Upton. These two in particular have showed consistent performance since joining the Diamondbacks.

Jason Kubel performed brilliantly last season as he finished the season on a high note and achieved .253 hitting average along with 30 home runs, 90 RBIs and .327 OBP.
