Boston Red Sox still hopeful to sign Mike Napoli

The Boston Red Sox management still wants to sign experienced catcher Mike Napoli. His physical examination is pending with the Red Sox however the deal worth $39 million still in place.
Both sides are hopeful that they will come up with a mutual understanding soon and resolve all the existing issues.
“I honestly don’t think the outcome has been determined,” an unidentified source with direct knowledge of the negotiations said when asked by ESPN Boston whether the deal could fall through.
“I cannot comment at this time,” Napoli’s agent, Brian Grieper said when asked if the deal might not get done.
About some rumours in the league about the Red Sox and Mike Napoli’s relationship, a renowned sports journalist Jen Royle recently told in an interview.
She said, “And I just wish [Red Sox general manager] Ben Cherington would say that . . . I have spoken to Mike, and he just seems really bummed out about it. If I had to guess . . . I really think the Red Sox just don’t want an injured player. I just wish Cherington would be honest. I don’t think he’s being honest.”
Napoli is a fine Major Leaguer and possesses six years of experienced achieving career .259 hitting average along with 146 home runs, 380 RBIs and .356 OBP.
In the last Major League Baseball season, Napoli played with the Texas Rangers and showed good performance by hitting at an average of .227 along with 24 home runs, 56 RBIs and .343 OBP.
League experts believe that if Napoli does sign with the Red Sox, it will be a great sign for Red Sox as their chances will be really high to win next year’s World Series.
