Washington Nationals sign reliever Rafael Soriano

The Washington National signed relief pitcher Rafael Soriano to a two year deal worth $28 million. Soriano Last played for the New York Yankees in the recent past Major League season and did well.
He finished the season on a high note achieving consistent stats of 2.26 ERA along with 42 saves, 69 strikeouts and 1.17 WHIP. Not only in the recent past season, but Soriano achieved consistent results in his ten-year Major League experience. He currently carries career 2.78 ERA along with 132 saves, 527 saves and 1.05 WHIP.
Experts believe that his new beginning with the National will give him more confidence to play extra offensive game. Soriano has been consistent since his arrival in the biggest baseball league in the world.
He started his career in 2002 from the Seattle Mariners franchise. Later he went onto play for the Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees. During his almost ten-year Major League experience, he has won All Star selection along with American League AL saves leader and American League AL Rolaids Relief award.
Meanwhile news is coming in the media that Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein traded Adrian Gonzalez and signed Carl Crawford from the Boston Red Sox.
“They told us we didn’t have any marketable players, that we needed some sizzle, We need some sexy guys. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. This is like an absurdist comedy. We’d become too big. It was the farthest thing removed from what we set out to be,” Epstein is quoted as saying.
Adrian Gonzalez achieved consistent results in the last Major League outing as he went with .299 hitting average along with 18 home runs, 108 RBIs and .344 OBP. Overall he also possesses good career numbers of .294 hitting average along with 213 home runs, 750 RBIs and .371 OBP.
Carl Crawford also did well in the last MLB outing and achieved .282 hitting average along with three home runs, 19 RBIs and .306 OBP. Along with a good 2012 record, Crawford has also done well in his past appearances. He currently holds a good career .292 hitting average along with 118 home runs and 667 RBIs and .332 OBP.
