Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Corey Hart will need knee surgery that has jeopardized his next season’s Major League Baseball competition. According to different news sources, Hart is probably going to miss at least first six weeks of the 2013 season.

“Corey can’t pinpoint it to one specific episode, He was doing his offseason workouts and the knee started to swell up. So, we’re a little stumped on that front. Dr. Raasch did not think it was something that Corey could or should play with. But, like Corey said, ‘I’m a quick healer,” said Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash.

Ash added, “In that regard, it solves a dilemma, We liked what we saw from him early last year before he injured the knee in what was really an accident (chasing a foul pop). And it’s better that this happened on Jan. 18 and not March 18.”

Hart is a talented Major Leaguer and has been playing for the Brewers since 2004. His almost eight years of big league experience certainly makes him a true offensive player at crucial first base position.

In the last Major League outing, he was quite exceptional in the field as well as on the plate. He batted well and achieved consistent numbers of .270 hitting average along with 83 RBIs and .334 OBP.

Along with a good 2012 MLB season, Hart has also very good career stats. He currently carries .276 hitting average along with 154 home runs, 508 RBIs and .334 OBP.

Many Major League experts believe that Hart’s absence in first few weeks of 2013 MLB season will certainly make things difficult for the Brewers to achieve more appropriate position in the overall standings in their own division.

However, still Brewers inside sources are showing their optimism ahead of next Major League Baseball season despite they will enter without Corey Hart.
