Sony will launch a new tablet in March, Xperia Z model, which will have 10-inch screen and will weighs around half a kilo, as reported by the Japanese company.
Sony, which came out last year to conquer the mobile phone market after launching a wide range of smartphones in the market following their separation from Ericsson, wants to have a greater role in the world
of tablets, where the market is not yet as well established.
The tablet Xperia Z is waterproof, and so far, the retail price has not been revealed, but Sony always has preferred to maintain their brand image with high prices, without sacrificing quality.
Though the company is yet to announce the preliminary details and launch date of their latest venture, the Xperia Tablet Z is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 version.
Above all it has an 8.1mp camera, keeping in mind the growing need of the respective users in this department.
The Japanese company introduced its first tablet in 2011, but, like the rest, it remained without much success. Apple’s iPad and, far ahead, Samsung tablets in high end and the Kindle in low range are dividing
the market segment at the moment.
