Monday, January 21st, 2013 10:01:29 by Rizwan KazmiThe Germany international echoed that he is very happy with life in the capital and claims Los Blancos team trainer is a top manager.
Real Madrid superstar Mesut Ozil stressed that he would love to end his playing days with the Spanish champions. Madrid have struggled for form this season, and head coach Jose Mourinho has been criticised from the supporters and a few people from the press following a string of bad results.
Nevertheless, the attacking midfielder is pleased with life at the Santiago Bernabeu after joining the side in 2010. He insisted that Madrid is a great place and added that the Spanish giants believe in his qualities. He also said that he is good friends with Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema.
“Madrid is a fantastic city, I’m really happy here. I know the club has great confidence in me and I have many friends here, like Sergio Ramos and Benzema,” he added.
The playmaker stated that he desires to play for Los Blancos for a number of years.
“I want to play here for many more years yet. I’d like to end my career at Real Madrid. Mourinho is the best coach in the world,” he mused.
“The media have no idea about what really goes on. Things quite often get blown out of proportion. We have a good laugh in the locker room. The only thing I care about is that we respect each other, and we do,” he stated.
“After three years at Real Madrid I’m more mature, more consistent and I’ve earned my place in the starting line-up,” he concluded.
Ozil also criticised the media for manipulating the facts over the club affairs. He suggested that everyone respects each other at the Bernabeu. On the other hand, he revealed that he has learned a lot in his three years at the capital.
