Yui Ohashi and Sydney Pickrem win gold medals – Australian Youth Olympic Festival

Yui Ohashi and Sydney Pickrem won gold medals of the Women’s 400m and 200m Individual Medley (IM) respectively at the 2012 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

Her alluring place remained almost a body length faster from her following swimmer as she tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 43.54 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Sydney Pickrem, who stayed 0.51 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 44.05 seconds.

Third position of the race was secured by Wakaba Tsuyuuchi, who stayed 0.04 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 45.86 seconds.

Similarly, the bronze medallist was followed by Emily Overholt, who was two body lengths behind and finished her race in fourth place by posting an effort of 4 minutes and 45.86 seconds.

On the other hand, Pickrem accomplished gold medal of the 200m event. She stayed only a touch ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 15.15 seconds.

The champion was traced by Yui Ohashi, who remained only 0.06 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 15.21 seconds.

Third fastest swimmer of the race was trailed by Hayley Baker, who stayed 0.67 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall by producing a time of 2 minutes and 15.88 seconds.

The third position holder was chased by Dalma Sebestyen, who was 0.06 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for fourth place by producing a time of 2 minutes and 15.94 seconds.

Fifth fastest spot of the race was secured by Chihiro Igarashi, who remained 0.11 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 16.05 seconds.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated notable efforts of all participants in their respective events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their undisputed efforts at the victory ceremony of the race.
