ICC Ranking: Muhammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal shine on number one ODI spots
Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 10:37:11 by Web DeskInternational Cricket Council’s (ICC) One-day Internationals (ODI) batting rankings still dominated by South Africa while Pakistan dominates the bowling rankings released by ICC.
Hashim Amla and A.B De Villiers of South Africa have been ranked number 1 and 2 respectively, while V.Kohli and M.S Dhoni from India were placed at number 3 and 4 respectively in the latest ODI rankings.
Indian batsman S.Raina has made it to the top ten of the ODI rankings for the first time in his career after he was declared the player of the series with 277 runs at an average of 92.33 in the recently concluded ODI series between India and England. None of the Pakistani batsmen were able to get a place in the top ten.
Saeed Ajmal of Pakistan is still on top of the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers while teammate Mohammad Hafeez grabbed the second spot. L.Tsotsobe of S.Africa has moved up a place to number 3 while W-Indian spinner S.P Narine has been placed at number 4.
Top ranked bowler in 2009, N.Kulasekara from Srilanka climbed sixteen places to grab the number 6 spot after taking 11 wickets against in the ODI series against Australia. His teammate L.Malinga has once again entered the top ten after jumping 10 places.
Mohammad Hafeez retains the top spot in the Allrounder’s rankings followed by Shakib al Hasan of Bangladesh grabbing the second spot. Shane Watson is at number 3 while Srilankan A.D Mathews is at number 4. Shahid Afridi remains in the top ten as he grabs the No.6 spot.
