Washington Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg shows optimism ahead of next season

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg is showing optimism ahead of next Major League Baseball season. He recently gave an interview on San Diego radio in which he talked about in detail about the challenges his team will be facing.

“We have some of the best fans in the country there in D.C. A lot of them have stuck with us through thick and thin, and obviously last year was a huge year for the organization and we are definitely moving in the right direction. It’s so much more fun when you are playing in front of sell-out crowds every night,” Strasburg said.

The two-year Major League veteran also spoke about his own game and stated with confidence that he will be resuming his baseball activities soon.

Strasburg added, “I think they showed a commitment a few years back, especially even when they first started, but nothing really is going to change overnight and it’s awesome having great guys in the clubhouse that I can really lean on to learn how to play the game the right way and just learn the winning mentality.”

He further said, “It’s been great to establish ourselves last year, but now we just gotta keep building up that and we still can’t take any team lightly.”

Strasburg was exceptional in the last Major League outing as he achieved consistent numbers by throwing at 3.16 ERA. He also did well with a good win-loss record of 15-6 along with 197 strikeouts and 1.15 WHIP.

Overall his career stats are also quite consistent and make him a good role player on the mound. He currently holds a good career 2.94 ERA along with 21-10 win-loss, 313 strikeouts and 1.09 WHIP.

Many inside experts believe that that the way Strasburg is projecting hope and words of enthusiasm in his recent interviews for his teammates as well as for his own, is certainly a great sign and this passion will certainly bring more stability in the Nationals’ 40 man roster.
