Ryo Fujimoto and Jenna Strauch grab gold medals – Australian Youth Olympic Festival

Ryo Fujimoto and Jenna Strauch grabbed gold medals of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) and Women’s 200m breaststroke at the 2012 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

Fujimoto remained full body length ahead of his following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 03.29 seconds.

The champion was traced by Evan White, who was 1.01 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 04.30 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Bradlee Ashby, who remained 0.07 seconds apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 04.37 seconds.

Fourth spot of the event was gained by Benjamin Gratz, who stayed more than a body length behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 05.53 seconds.

Gratz was chased by Liam Cunneen, who remained one and a half body length behind and hit the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 06.77 seconds for fifth place.

On the other hand, Strauch occupied the title of 200m breaststroke discipline in Women’s corner. She was almost three and a half body length ahead of her competitor and stepped on the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 27.55 seconds.

The first position holder was trailed by Sydney Pickrem, who stayed comfortably slower from her and tapped the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 2 minute and 31.09 seconds.

The second best finisher was traced by Tash Lloyd, who was 0.28 seconds slower from her former finisher and surfaced on the wall for third position with an effort of 2 minutes and 31.36 seconds.

Fourth position holder of the swim was secured by Jessica Hansen, who remained 0.34 seconds away from reaching the podium by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 31.71 seconds.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated notable efforts of all swimmers in their respective events while the position holders received medals at the prize ceremony after the session.
