Jenna Strauch and Kazusa Araya secure gold medals – Australian Youth Olympic Festival

Jenna Strauch and Kazusa Araya secured gold medals of the 200m breaststroke in Women and Men’s corner respectively at the 2012 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

She stayed nearly three and a half body length ahead of her competitor and stepped on the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 27.55 seconds.

The champion was traced by Sydney Pickrem, who was comfortably slower from her and tapped the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 2 minute and 31.09 seconds.

The second position holder was trailed by Tash Lloyd, who remained 0.28 seconds slower from her former finisher and surfaced on the wall for third position with an effort of 2 minutes and 31.36 seconds.

Fourth spot of the event was traced by Jessica Hansen, who remained 0.34 seconds away from reaching the podium by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 31.71 seconds.

Hansen was followed by Anna Sztankovics, who was 1.22 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and stepped on the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 32.93 seconds fifth position.

On the other hand, Araya captured gold medal of same event in Men’s corner. Araya out-performed his closest swimmer over the finishing wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 15.80 seconds.

His title claiming effort stayed 0.15 seconds faster from his closest competitor, Mamoru Mori, who stepped on the podium for silver medal by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 15.95 seconds.

The silver medallist was trailed by Joshua Tierney, who was nearly full body length behind and completed the podium by winning bronze medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 16.71 seconds.

Fourth position of the race was obtained by George Schroder, who remained considerably slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 19.42 seconds.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated commendable efforts of all participants while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the event.
