Schweinsteiger: Bayern need to improve
Friday, February 1st, 2013 4:37:36 by Rizwan KazmiThe Germany international claims the Bavarian giants are not in top form at the moment as they are still not deadly on the attacking front and cannot score freely against their opposition.
Bayern Munich central midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger feels that his side can further improve and has urged for more conversion in the final third. The influential player claimed that they should be more accurate in front of the goal and that they are not performing up to the highest level in recent matches.
Der FCB are currently placed at the top of the league table, and have an 11-point lead over second-placed Bayer 04 Leverkusen. However, the star player stressed that they cannot be complacent like they were last year when they lost their lead and let Borussia Dortmund claim the Bundesliga from them.
“We’re trying to do one or two things even better. We have to keep on improving,” the 2012 UEFA Champions League runner-up with Bayern Munich was quoted as saying in an interview.
“The final pass has to be delivered more accurately, because that’ll give us even more clear-cut chances. There are always moments in our play where we could get into position better and quicker,” the 2010 FIFA World Cup third place winner added.
“The partnership with Javi Martinez is fundamentally getting better and better, even though there are still some minor communication problems. He got confused between right and left in the last match, but fortunately we were already 2-0 up,” the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship finalist finally concluded.
Schweinsteiger stated that Die Roten need to get better and the final ball needs to be more accurate, because that will provide them with open chances. Moreover, he suggested that he has developed a great partnership with summer signing Javi Martinez, and that is improving with each passing day.
