Missy Franklin and Nathan Adrian grab gold medals – Austin Grand Prix

Missy Franklin and Nathan Adrian grabbed gold medal of the 100m freestyle in Women and Men’s category respectively on concluding day of the 2013 Austin Grand prix.

Her notable pace stayed almost a second ahead of her following swimmer as she tapped the wall with a wonderful timing of 54.68 seconds for the title.

The champion was chased by Simone Manuel, who remained full body length behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking an effort of 55.52 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Nathalie Lindborg, who was almost half a body length behind and emerged on the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort of 56.16 seconds.

Lindborg was trailed by Isabella Arcila, who stayed 0.32 seconds slower from securing her spot on the victory stand and finished her race in fourth place by producing an effort of 56.48 seconds.

On the other hand, Adrian proved his mettle for the title of 100m freestyle. Adrian remained in a prominent lead over his closest competitor and touched the wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 48.32 seconds.

With his notable pace, he stayed 1.03 seconds ahead of Ricky Berens, who obtained silver medal of the race by producing an effort of 49.35 seconds.

The silver medallist was chased by Jimmy Feigen, who remained 0.66 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by reporting an effort of 50.01 seconds.

Fourth position of the race was traced by Matt Grevers, who stayed 0.18 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 50.19 seconds.

Grevers stayed 0.30 seconds ahead of Anthony Ervin, who ended fifth in the race by touching the wall with the timing of 50.49 seconds.

In addition, the position holders expressed contentment over their victories at the prize distribution ceremony of the event while the arena also appreciated commendable forms of all swimmers in their exclusive events. Furthermore, the championship will continue for two more days and will conclude after the completion of all swimming events.
