Intel sales and profits fall according to the fourth quarter
Saturday, February 9th, 2013 5:48:53 by Farasat AliIntel, the technology giants, saw a subsequent decline in sale of their chips as the sales declined down 3% during the last quarter comparing to the 5% chips they sold in the previous.
The company said that the figure will keep on declining over the next quarter and there is little arguing to the statement that they will not remain as the world’s leading manufacturer of chips in tablets and phones until the end
of this year or next.
If speculations are to be believed, Intel are reportedly planning to invest ten million Euros in a new chip plant specializing in mobile devices. The company with a highest range of microprocessors in the world of computers are
struggling to find their footings in the world of smartphones and tablets.
Intel entered the quarter more than 10,000 million Euros, with a turnover of 2,000 million. By 2013, Intel expects a slight increase in sales. Until next year Intel is expected to see a progress in the field of mobile chips with
new LTE (Long Term Evolution).
Currently, 30% of its revenue comes from HP and Dell involving pure business computers and servers, which arguably have pull their sales down. While PC sales fell 4% last year, and will continue to fall into this, tablet sales
grew by 72% and it’s expected that the sales will grow by 54% in 2013.
