Aston Khor confounds Alex Cheng in 2013 USA Badminton Junior International

This Boy’s Singles pre quarter-final match remained in full swing for 55 minutes as both contenders challenged each other while piling up decisive figures of 21-16, 19-21 and 25-23.
Aston prevailed in opening and ending segments of the showdown whereas the opposing shuttler could rule the court only in the second set.
The battle heated up immediately in the first set as both shuttlers played with full aggression and put life into the contest.
They snapped at each other’s heels and remained close on the points table in establishing rallies. However, things got changed in next couple of rallies as Aston struck hard and tipped the scale in his favour.
He played flawless badminton and bagged many valuable points in a row. His power packed campaign confined Alex in the rear court.
He relished full benefits of this psychological edge all the way to game point situation and wrapped this segment of the showdown with 21-16 score on the board.
The following set was also played in similar manner but result was entirely different. This time it was Alex’s turn to prove his supremacy.
He laid foundation of his dominance by prevailing in the establishing rallies and strengthened his grip over game by registering a decent total of 11.
After the one-minute interval, Alex widened the gap on points table and cruised to a winning margin of 21-19.
Third set of the match was the best part of contest as both contenders showed great fighting spirit and kept the audience intact until last shot was played.
Finally this nerve-racking tussle came to an end when Aston placed a tight yet decisive score of 25-23.
