Austrian International Challenge: Rohit Yadav moves forward to third stage of qualifying round

India’s budding shuttler Rohit Yadav C. served notice of his talent in the qualifying round of Austrian International Challenge and defeated Vilson Vattanirppel on February 20, 2013.

This Men’s Singles encounter proved real test of their mental and physical fitness as they had to sweat hard while piling up final figures of 21-15, 17-21 and 21-13.

Rohit prevailed in the opening and ending segments of the showdown whereas the other shuttler could rise only in the second game.

The Indian youngster showed his intentions immediately in the beginning of first set. He launched an intensive attack and confined his opponent in the rear court.

Rohit clinched many valuable points without any interruption and established an unassailable lead in the establishing rallies.

He relished full benefits of this early advantage and doubled his total in no time. At the half time, Rohit was in commanding position with a respectable total.

After the mid-game break, Vilson put an honest effort and prevailed in couple of consecutive rallies but then his fluctuated performance hit him hard. He had to surrender after reading a concluding margin of 21-15.

However, the second set gave him the opportunity to comeback and he did not squander that chance.

This time, Vilson played impeccable badminton and gained control over game immediately in the beginning. He kept on playing with an authoritative approach and kept his competitor at the lower end.

His power packed performance yielded favourable results as he wrapped this segment of the showdown with 21-17 score.

Third set proved a dead contest after the one-minute interval as the Indian campaigner ruled the court and sealed his victory.

Rohit started the beating after half time and strengthened his grip in third quarter of the set. He did not make even single mistake and sent Vilson packing with an overwhelming total of 21-13.
