Beatriz Corrales upsets Simone Prutsch in Women’s Singles first round at Austrian International

Spain’s upcoming player Beatriz Corrales made her presence strongly felt to the world as she delivered a stunning performance in Women’s Singles first round when she punished the higher ranked local shuttler Simone Prutsch at Austrian International Challenge 2013 on Thursday, February 21, in Austria.

The lofty Beatriz, who is an un-seeded player in the Women’s Singles draw of the championship, played with remarkable speed and confidence and managed to overpower the seventh seeded Simone in a lopsided manner.

Spanish lady dashed local hopes by playing to her maximum potential and remained successful in showing exit to her home favourite challenger in straight sets with a completely commanding margin of 21-12 and 21-14 by taking just 23 minutes.

On the contrary, the higher ranked Simone was not ready for such a harsh treatment from her un-seeded Spanish rival. She could not prove her worth in front of her home fans and easily lost the match in straight games without even getting a respectable total.

Beatriz showed an amazing aggression in the arena from the initial points of first set by creating a remarkable pressure on her opponent.

The Spanish lady proved that she has got top class skills in the arena and eventually successful in taking a strong position in the arena. She did not show any respect to her local challenger in the starting half and clinched a superb lead in the game.

After the one-minute break, the in-form Beatriz stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in maintaining a comfortable lead.

The positive and aggressive play of Beatriz assisted her to stay in complete control of the pace of rallies and she secured the first game with a stunning margin of 21-12.

In the second game, Beatriz played with comfortable speed without sparing any chance for Simone to find a good flow.

Beatriz impressed the crowd with her unmatched skills that assisted her to put pressure on her rival who could not find positive run.

Beatriz continued putting up comfortable performance in the second half of second game and remained successful in clinching the set with a stunning 21-14 margin on score board.
