Clash leaves policeman, three militants dead near Nowshehra

The militants, riding a motorcycle, attacked a police mobile with hand grenade and automatic weapons at Karnal Sher Khan Inter-change near Peshawar-Islamabad motorway.
The police returned fire and killed all the three attackers.
According to Police Control, the mobile van of Akora police was on routine patrol at Karnal Sher Khan Inter-change when three motorcyclists appeared on the scene and opened indiscriminate fire at police before hurling a hand grenade.
A policeman, identified as Abdul Nasir died in the attack while the driver of the mobile van sustained bullet injuries. The other policemen immediately retaliated the fire and killed two of the terrorists on-the-spot while the third one also died later of his bullet wounds.
Bodies of all the three terrorists were shifted to police lines for asserting their identification while the injured policeman was taken to hospital in Akora Khattak.
Police carried out a search operation in the area and cleared the road for traffic.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
