Tyler McGill and Becca Mann secure gold medals – Arena Grand Prix

Tyler McGill and Becca Mann secured gold medals of the Men’s 100m butterfly and Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) respectively on first day of the 2013 Arena Grand Prix.

McGill remained in a comfortable lead over his challengers and made his way to the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 53.38 seconds.

The gold medallist was traced by Ryan Lochte, who stayed 1.02 seconds slower from him and occupied silver medal of the race by touching the wall with an effort of 54.40 seconds.

Lochte was trailed by Santo Condorelli, who was 0.22 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 54.62 seconds.

Fourth best spot of the event was secured by Peng Wu, who was only 0.01 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for fourth place by reporting a time of 54.63 seconds.

Wu was chased by Zack Chetrat, who remained only 0.36 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing wall for fifth place by submitting a time of 54.99 seconds.

On the other hand, Mann occupied gold medal of the event in Women’s 400m IM.  Mann enjoyed a lead of almost half pool length over her closest competitor and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 41.24 seconds.

The champion was chased by Sam Arevallo Salinas, who remained 8.99 seconds slower and clocked an effort of4 minutes and 50.23 seconds for silver medal.

Arevallo was traced by Kylie Stewart, who remained almost two seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 4 minutes and 52.08 seconds.

Stewart was followed by Carolyn McCann, who stayed 6.09 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 58.17 seconds for fourth position.

Fifth best spot of the race was obtained by Casey Francis, who remained 1.13 seconds slower and hit the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 59.30 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
