The youth will save the day, or will it?

The youth of Pakistan has coming off as a tremendous force that is strongly advocating a change in the country.

While it was only Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that had marked the youth as their primary vote bank, other political parties such as Muslim League (N) is also beginning to make an effort to attract the university students and fresh graduates.

Even though the youth has become politicised, thanks to the efforts of a free and pretty-much impartial media, there are a few things that are really alarming.

Firstly, the youth that is being considered as the decisive force in the upcoming elections has little to no idea about the very ideology of Pakistan. They find themselves confused over the very purpose for which India was divided into two parts, a Muslim-majority country and a Hindu-majority country.

The youth stands divided on the very issue of whether Pakistan is actually “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” or if it is a secular state, with the liberal-minded youth supporting the latter view.

Another thing that the youth is guilty of is the lack of interest in the rich history of its origins, the heroes that played a huge role in its creation and the heroes that sacrificed their lives to protect the land from the enemy.

Instead, the youth is more interested in learning about the Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, getting inspired and influenced by them when it should be the likes of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Iqbal, Rashid Minhas, Aziz Bhatti and the lot who should be serving as an inspiration.

Unfortunately, Pakistan finds itself being invaded from both its west as well as east. Since this invasion is a cultural one, it is hardly getting the sort of response that it should get.

Even though such a youth is taking interest in politics and the overall condition of Pakistan, it remains to be seen if the politicisation of such a massive group would do any significant good to the country and bring about a change that is expected.

The American Civil War was equally bloody but short, it lasted from 1861-1865 and ended in the dissolution of the Confedrate States of America.

A nation divided against itself cannot and will not stand ! So said Lincoln

It is the same with Pakistan. The American Civil War lasted four years, I dare say
Perhaps, the Great Indian Civil War will last Four Score and Seven years.
But in the end it will all come together and there has to be a Union in Sourh Asia
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri-Lanka all need to disappear and by replaced by the United States of India. U S I.

Only then, under PAX INDICA will peace, prosperity, strength and Goodwill return to all peoples of South Asia who have inhabited this space for centuries.
