Parupalli Kashyap casts Jen Hao out of 2013 All England Open Badminton Championships
Thursday, March 7th, 2013 2:57:27 by Ammad KhawajaIndia’s talented male shuttler Parupalli Kashyap registered his presence in the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships by winning his opening match on March 6, 2013.
He was up against Hsu Jen Hao and their meeting prolonged to 43 minutes before ending with decisive figures of 21-17 and 21-18.
This Men’s Singles tussle was staged at the local badminton arena of Birmingham and a huge crowd gathered to encourage both shuttlers.
Kashyap raised his chances of success by clinching the opening match point and then sealed a splendid straight-set victory by ruling the court in second set.
On the other hand, the Taipei campaigner failed to show his brilliance in the game and crashed out of this prestigious event.
The battle heated up when the Indian player launched an intensive attack and pushed the opposing shuttler on back foot.
He capitalised his dominance in next couple of rallies and doubled his total. Before the announcement of break, he was in commanding position with a decent score.
Latter part of the game saw Kashyap struggling a bit but then he reinstated his supremacy when it mattered and swept the table with a favourable margin of 21-17.
The second set of match was also played in similar manner as initially Jen Hao showed some spark but then he surrendered tamely in the pressure situation.
Meanwhile, the Indian contender showed maturity in his craft and locked the honour in a commendable manner.
In first half of the set, he played with a cautious approach and allowed his competitor to stay close on the points table. However, Kashyap started the beating in third quarter of the set and finished this crucial set with 21-18 score.
With this win, he marched into pre quarter-finals where Kenichi Tago of Japan will be waiting for him.
