Chen Long ousts Parupalli Kashyap to surge into Men’s Singles semi-final of All England Open

China’s talented player Chen Long continued his staggering performance and secured a semi-final berth after defeating India’s Parupalli Kashyap in quarter-final match of Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2013 on Friday, March 8, in Birmingham.

The lanky Long, who is the second seeded player in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played with complete control in his shots and remained successful in winding up the contest in a dominating fashion in 43 minutes.

Chinese shuttler had to work hard in the opening game but he did not let his challenger to put up strong show in the second game and eventually won the battle in straight games with a comfortable total of 21-16 and 21-10.

On the contrary, Kashyap failed to stretch his winning run in the championship as he could not find elevation on crucial occasions in this quarter-final battle and eventually crashed out without snatching any set from his Chinese challenger.

In the opening set, both shuttlers were aggressive and positive in the arena as they played attacking badminton all the way and remained close at until the end of starting half.

However, Long proved that he has obtained top quality skills in the arena and eventually successful in taking a strong domination on court. He proceeded with a stunning speed in the ending half.

The lower ranked Kashyap tried his best to play attacking badminton but failed to take charge of the game and remained struggling all the way.

The higher ranked Long was very calm and composed on court as he did not show any sign of confusion and ended up the opening game with a comfortable difference of 21-16.

Kashyap tried his best to play smart badminton in starting half of second set but he failed to pile up pressure on his challenger.

The second seeded Chinese shuttler was unmatched on court and he did not face any problem in setting up a superb lead until the one-minute break.

Long continued putting up comfortable show in the ending part of second game and remained successful in securing the game with a stunning 21-10 margin on score board.
