This title match was staged at the local badminton arena of Birmingham and it kept both contenders head-to-head for 53 minutes.
Both female shuttlers challenged each other in all areas of the game and earned great admiration while piling up decisive figures of 21-14, 16-21 and 21-10.
The battle heated up when Tine Baun amazed her opponent with a furious attack in first set. She did not give Intanon enough time to get settled and established a string grip.
The Danish shuttler ruled the court in couple of consecutive rallies and widened the gap on points table. She finished first half of the set with a significant total of 11 and then capitalised this psychological edge in latter part of the game.
Meanwhile, Intanon could not employ an effective counterattack strategy and lost this valuable set with 14-21 margin on the board.
However, the Thai campaigner changed the scenario in very next game and brought the contest to right balance.
This time she did not repeat previous mistakes and played impeccable badminton in the establishing rallies.
Intanon gained an immediate advantage with few successive points and then doubled her total by prevailing in couple of uninterrupted rallies.
She registered a respectable figure of 11 before the mid-game break and then swept the table with an impressive result of 21-16.
With this development, third set became crucial for both contenders as they were just one step away from the top spot on victory stand.
Unexpectedly, the decider proved a dead contest as Tine Baun placed an overwhelming score of 21-10 and became Women’s Singles champion of 2013 All England Open.
