Two blasts kill 2, injure 27 in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa

Nearly 18 more people were injured when the bomb targeted a police mobile near Cantt police station.
An official at the district hospital, Dr Farooq Khattak, said two of the injured died of wounds.
No group claimed responsibility of the attack. The government blame Taliban militants for attacks on police.
Meanwhile at least seven people were injured in a blast near the house of a provincial information minister near Peshawar on Tuesday, police and witnesses said.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Minister for Information, in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province, was not at home at the time of the blast, police said. A policeman was among the injured.
Hours before the blast, Hussain was due to address a public meeting at his hometown of Pabbi, some 25 kilometers northeast of Peshawar, the provincial capital.
Hussain a central leader of Awami National Party has been under Taliban threats for years.
Police said the explosives were planted in an under construction house next to the minister’s home.
The blast created panic in the area and the people closed down shops. Children and labourers at the under construction building were among the injured.
The injured were shifted to Lady Readings Hospital in Peshawar. Two injured were registered critical.
No group claimed responsibility for the blast. Police suspect Taliban militants may be behind the blast as they have threatened Hussain, a critic of the Taliban.
Taliban shot dead Hussain’s son, Mian Rashid Hussain, in July 2010.
