Joseph Roebuck and Georgia Davies win gold medals – British International

Joseph Roebuck and Georgia Davies win gold medals of the Men’s 200m butterfly and Women’s 100m backstroke respectively at the 2013 British International.

He remained almost two body lengths ahead of his following swimmer and cruised his way towards the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 57.54 seconds.

The champion was chased by Mallett Adam, who was 1.76 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 59.30 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by James Guy, who stayed 0.23 seconds behind and clocked a time of 1 minute and 59.53 seconds for bronze medal.

The bronze medallist was traced by Roberto Pavoni, who remained 0.33 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end for fourth position by producing a time of 1 minute and 59.86 seconds.

Fifth spot of the event was gained by Matthew Johnson, who was 0.44 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 00.30 seconds.

On the other hand, Davies occupied gold medal of the 100m backstroke in Women’s corner. She faced tough competition from her former finisher in the playoff but managed to edge her out over the wall for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 00.45 seconds.

She was chased by Lauren Quigley, who stayed only 0.14 seconds slower from her former finisher and secured silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 00.59 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Jessica Fullalove, who remained full body length slower from her former finisher and clocked a time of 1 minute and 01.56 seconds for bronze medal.

Fourth position spot of the swim was secured by Elizabeth Simmonds, who stayed only 0.05 seconds behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 01.61 seconds.

Simmonds was followed by Sharon Van Rouwendaal, who was nearly half a body length behind and posted an effort of 1 minute and 02.17 seconds for fifth place.

Furthermore, the position holders received medal and accolades for his notable efforts after the event.
