2013 Swiss open: Du Pengyu outshines Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in second round

He locked horns with Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk and their meeting lasted for 74 minutes in the local badminton complex of Basil.
Though, the top seeded Chinese campaigner got down in the first set but he managed to rise from the dust in the following games and concluded this tussle with a favourable result of 17-21, 28-26 and 21-14.
The battle heated up when Tanongsak prevailed in couple of establishing rallies and gained a decent advantage straight away in the beginning of first set.
He did not squander his effort in next stages and swept the table with a significant margin. Though, Du Pengyu tried to narrow the gap on points table but he could not avoid a 17-21 defeat.
Next game proved real test for both contenders as they challenged each other technically and tactically. The Chinese shuttler had no margin of error as any blunder could have led him to straight-set defeat.
Du Pengyu took some time to come out of his challenger’s influence but a series of productive strokes boosted his confidence before the interval.
He finished first half of the set with a respectable score position but then few back-to-back mistakes in third quarter of the set jeopardised his chances of success.
However, he did not lose nerve and ended this cliff-hanging set with a tight yet favourable total of 28-26.
Third set became crucial for both shuttlers as they were just one step away from the pre quarter-final round of this esteemed event.
This time Du Pengyu did not make any mistake and sealed his victory with an overwhelming margin of 21-14.
