Blast at TV cable office kills three in Karachi

The blast ripped through a TV cable office in Landhi area, witnesses and police officers said.
Police said that five other people were injured in the late night blast. The device was exploded through remote control.
Hospital sources confirmed the death of three people. The injured were also shifted to the hospital. The blast also destroyed the office.
A police officer at the scene said owner of the cable TV has told the police he had not received any threat.
No group claimed responsibility.
According to bomb disposal unit’s initial findings at least three kilograms of high-grade explosive with anti-personnel components packed around it was detonated to do the intended damage.
The blast occurred hours after police in Karachi killed Tehrik-e-Taliban militant commander suspected over the killing of a prominent woman development worker.
Police also said they had Thursday arrested six Taliban militants from the city’s southern and western neighborhoods and seized explosives and weapons.
