Arsenal playmaker, Santi Cazorla, wants his team to carry their rhythm in the Premier League matches. He believes that overpowering the German giants, Bayern Munich, gave confidence boost to the Gunners.
The Spanish International, Cazorla is delighted with a 2-0 win in the second leg at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich. His side started off well and after just three minutes, Olivier Giroud scored the opener. The Gunners went into the second half in high spirit with the same score line. They sought many chances but failed to capitalise. In the 86th minutes, Laurent Koscielny led the gunners 2-0 up and re-ignited their spark. They failed to score another goal and exited due to less away goals at the UEFA Champions League.
Cazorla was really happy with this team as they outclassed a side which was top scorer in the European competition. He is hoping that his side can carry this momentum at the Barclays English Premier League. The Gunners are currently fighting a spot for the top four so they can qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
The Spanish playmaker was quoted in an interview to the Arsenal Player:
“The positive we take out of the game is that we gave a good account of ourselves against one of the favourites for the Champions League, winning at their stadium. The team can gain momentum from this. We have to use this game as an example for the future and try to play as well as we did against Bayern.”
Arsenal will take on Swansea City in this coming weekend. Cazorla reflected:
“The Swansea squad in general is strong but, above all, Michu. I know him from when we were very young and he is a player that can make a difference. He’s scored a lot of goals.”
