Jeanette Ottesen Gray and Femke Heemskerk capture gold medals – British International

Jeanette Ottesen Gray and Femke Heemskerk captured gold medals of Women’s 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle respectively at the 2013 British International Meet.

She enjoyed a lead of half body length over her strongest opponent and occupied gold medal of the race by producing an effort of 25.76 seconds.

The gold medallist was traced by Francesca Halsall, who was 0.24 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 26.00 seconds for second place.

The second position holder was traced by Emma Wilkins, who stayed 0.98 seconds slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 26.98 seconds for third position.

Fourth best spot of the event was gained by Amy Smith, who was 0.18 seconds away from her preceding swimmer and hit the wall with the timing of 27.16 seconds.

Smith was chased by Sian Harkin, who remained 0.11 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 27.27 seconds for fifth place.

On the other hand, Heemskerk occupied gold medal of the 200m freestyle. She was only two arm-strokes ahead over her toughest challenger and tapped the wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 58.49 seconds for gold medal.

The gold medallist was followed by Rebecca Turner, who stepped on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 58.72 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Eleanor Faulkner, who remained almost full body length behind and secured the wall for third position by posting an effort of 1 minute and 59.42 seconds.

The third position holder was trailed by Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, who remained 0.61 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 00.03 seconds for fourth place.

Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Sharon Van Rouwendaal, who stayed 0.92 seconds apart and finished her race in a time of 2 minutes and 00.95 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received accolades at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
