De Bruyne not sure over Chelsea return
Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 4:38:42 by Rizwan KazmiThe Belgium international has spent two spells on loan after joining the English Premier League side in 2012 and has insisted that he might seek a permanent move away from the European champions at the end of the season
Werder Bremen loan signing Kevin De Bruyne has stressed that he is skeptical whether he has a long term future at Chelsea FC. The young starlet penned a five and a half year deal with the London outfit after leaving hometown club Genk in January 2012. However, he was loaned back to them for the rest of the campaign.
Moreover, the youngster was loaned to the Bundesliga outfit at the start of the current campaign in order to get more experience.
“I want to show everybody in Chelsea that I can play also there, but for the moment I don’t know what Chelsea want to do with me,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
“So it’s difficult to say what is going to happen with me in the next year or years so I have to just wait,” the former Gent and Racing Genk youth academy player added.
“I’d love to play with Eden. I know him already a long time. We played already together in the national team, we have the same age,” the Werder Bremen attacking midfielder mused.
“Internationally is also a very high level, so I think you can compare it with Chelsea,” the young prodigy stated.
“All the players in our national team also play in big clubs in England and all over the world. So I think you can compare it,” he finally concluded.
De Bruyne is not sure whether Chelsea plans to include him in their next season’s plans. As a result, he is considering other options after enjoying a decent season with Bremen.
