Yik Wong Kin stamps Watchara Buranakuea in his way to main round of 2013 Vietnam International

Men’s Singles expert Yik Wong Kin remained invincible in the qualifying round and gained access to the main round of Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam International Challenge on March 27, 2013.

He locked horns with Watchara Buranakuea and their meeting lasted for 30 minutes before ending with decisive figures of 21-19 and 21-16.

Initially, the young but talented Wong Kin took some time to get on right track but he never looked back after gaining the right momentum.

He raised his chances of success by prevailing in establishing rallies of first set. He did not give his competitor enough time to get settled and pushed him on back foot with an intensive attack.

Wong Kin kept on moving forward on points table at steady pace and doubled his total before the announcement of one-minute break.

After the mid-game break, he made fatal mistakes in few consecutive rallies and allowed his challenger to narrow the gap.

Though, Watchara relished full benefits of his rival’s blunders but still his fluctuated performance proved the biggest hurdle in his way to success.

In third quarter of the set, Wong Kin managed to reinstate his dominance and wrapped this segment of the showdown with a favourable score of 21-19.

The following game remained interesting just until the half time as it was completely dominated by Wong Kin.

In first half of the set, both contenders made every effort to establish a significant lead but neither of them could tip the scale in his favour. The game kept swinging between them until the interval.

However, latter part of the game was completely a one-sided affair as Wong Kin served the notice of his supremacy in a commendable manner.

He registered a winning total of 21-16 and setup his next clash with Hsu Shao Wen in main round of Vietnam International Challenge.
