Major League Baseball Update/ News

The Washington Nationals talented centre fielder Bryce Harper is expecting his Major League return soon as he now feels much better after getting injured with sore left thump.

“When I woke up this morning, it felt fine,” Harper said. “Yesterday it kind of got me a little bit. I thought it was going to be a lot worse when I woke up this morning, and it wasn’t. If I was in the lineup today, I could play.”

Later Harper also added with detail, “I don’t think it’s gonna hold me down or anything. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, I had it in Hagerstown my first year, and it was a lot worse. It doesn’t seem to be that bad to that point, Hopefully it doesn’t get to that point. But I don’t see it getting to that point at all.”

Harper is a very talented individual and Nationals also understand this fact. His presence in the field always pushes the Nationals entire roster. Last year, he played a magnificent role for his team and achieved consistent numbers of .270 hitting average, 22 home runs, 59 RBIs and .340 OBP.

It is a good sign that Harper is quite hopeful regarding his potential comeback. Experts believe that with his addition, the Nationals have a good chance to play the 2013 Major League Baseball post season.

On the other hand, the Nationals’ other players including Ross Detwiler is showing confidence that his team has a good chance in the coming season.

The Nationals’ starter did a very good job in recent Spring Trainings and now looking ahead for bigger challenge. He recently commented in the media and explained in detail about the potential plans to play in the regulars.

“Just going to roll with it,” Detwiler said. “Got a few days off. Enjoy the festivities. They’re going to call my name on Opening Day, and I’m going to run out in line. That’s about as far as we’ve gotten. I’m not feeling different at all, I know I’m not going to be sitting down in right field. I’ll be in the dugout. That’s about it.”

Detwiler added of his past experiences, “I think that’s going to feed into this quite a bit, I didn’t get stretched out at all last year, and going to the WBC and everything I didn’t get that great of a chance to get stretched out [this year]. I think I missed 2-3 starts here. So I think that’s definitely going to help.”

Detwiler is a good starting pitcher and knows his game quite well. He was exceptional in the last Major League outing with total 105 strikeouts and maintained 3.40 RA. Not only just in the last season, Detwiler also possesses good career record of 3.74 ERA along with 16-22 win loss, 207 strikeouts and 1.34 ERA.
