Poon Lok Yan, Tse Ying Suet move into quarter-final round of 2013 Vietnam International Challenge

Women’s Doubles partners Poon Lok Yan and Tse Ying Suet forged a fruitful chemistry in the second round and earned a spot in the quarter-finals of Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam International Challenge on March 29, 2013.

They were up against the twosome of Pacharapun Chochuwong and Chanisa Teachavorasinkun in local badminton arena of Hanoi. Their meeting prolonged to 38 minutes before ending with 21-13 and 21-9 margin.

The Hong Kong shuttlers did not give the opposing team enough time to get settled and established a strong grip by winning first set.

The Thai duo was not prepared for such an intensive attack as both female shuttlers failed to come out their rivals’ influence throughout the battle.

In the opening game, Lok Yan and Ying Suet launched a brisk attack and gained many valuable points in a row. They capitalised this initial advantage in next couple of rallies and piled up a significant total before the interval.

After the mid-game break, they injected more intensity in their attack and kept their competitors at the lower end.

Finally, their hard work paid off and Lok Yan-Ying Suet swept the table with an impressive score of 21-13.

The following game proved a one-sided affair as the Hong Kong campaigners showed great maturity in their craft and ruled the court all the way to game-point situation.

Lok Yan and Ying Suet raised their chances of success by registering a decent total way before the half time.

They kept on moving forward at steady pace and widened the gap on points table in third quarter of the set.

They maintained a convincing lead of 12 points and sealed their straight-set victory with 21-9 score on the board.

Now they are scheduled to meet Chen Hsiao Huan-Lai Chia Wen in the quarter-final round of Vietnam International Challenge.
