Petya Nedelcheva outwits Lianne Tan in Women’s Singles first round at French International 2013

Bulgaria’s most experienced player Petya Nedelcheva found a perfect start in Women’s Singles first round when she easily showed exit to Belgium’s Lianne Tan at the French International 2013 on Friday, March 29, at Orleans, France.

The talented Nedelcheva, who is the number one seed in Women’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played with wonderful ease as she did not face any problem in finishing up the match by taking just 31 minutes.

Bulgarian lady was in a different mood as she did not show any mercy to her lower ranked Belgian challenger and eventually wrapped up a striking victory in straight games with a spectacular 21-11 and 21-15 score on the board.

Meanwhile, the un-seeded Lianne failed to find a good flow on court as she could not play attacking badminton. She also remained unable to create gaps in her rival’s court and eventually crashed out at the initial stage without making her presence strongly felt.

In the first game, Nedelcheva showed her aggression on court from the initial rallies by creating a huge pressure on her Belgian challenger. The impressive variations in her strokes helped her to continue her supremacy against her opponent on court.

Nedelcheva progressed with a superb speed in the starting part and easily created gaps in her rival’s court. She sailed smoothly in the arena and remained miles ahead on score board until the interval.

Lianne tried to put up strong resistance but could not take control of the game and remained struggling in the concluding half.

Nedelcheva remained consistent in executing powerful shots in targeted areas and grabbed the first set with an inspiring score of 21-11.

The top seed did not lose her concentration at any stage in the starting half of second game as she played with control and aggression.

Bulgarian lady was in remarkable form and she did not face any problem in setting up a sound lead until the one-minute interval.

Nedelcheva continued putting up sound performance in the second part of second set and remained successful in clinching the game with a staggering 21-15 total on score board.
