Femke Heemskerk and Hannah Miley grab gold medals – British International

Femke Heemskerk and Hannah Miley grabbed gold medals of the Women’s 200m freestyle and 400m Individual medley M respectively at the 2013 British International.

She was only two arm-strokes ahead over her toughest challenger and tapped the wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 58.49 seconds for gold medal.

The champion was traced by Rebecca Turner, who appeared on the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 58.72 seconds.

The silver medallist was traced by Eleanor Faulkner, who stayed almost full body length behind and secured the wall for third position by posting an effort of 1 minute and 59.42 seconds.

The third position holder was chased by Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, who remained 0.61 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 00.03 seconds for fourth place.

Fifth finest spot of the event was secured by Sharon Van Rouwendaal, who was 0.92 seconds apart and finished her race in a time of 2 minutes and 00.95 seconds.

On the other hand, Miley occupied gold medal of the 400m IM. She remained in a lead of three and a half body lengths over her following swimmer and surfaced on the wall for the title with an effort of 4 minutes and 35.57 seconds.

The first position holder was followed by Aimee Willmott, who was 3.37 seconds slower and secured silver medal of the race with a timing of 4 minutes and 38.94 seconds.

The silver medallist was trailed by Keri-Anne Payne, who was prominently away from her and stepped on the finishing end for bronze medal with the timing of 4 minutes and 42.85 seconds.

Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Danielle Lowe, who was almost six seconds behind and posted an effort of 4 minutes and 48.43 seconds.

Lowe was chased by Rachel Williams, who stayed full body length slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 49.35 seconds for fifth position.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts after the session.
