Muller expects a tough clash against Juventus
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 10:20:37 by Rizwan KazmiThe Germany international has asked the Bavarian giants to be in good form when taking on the Italian champions, who he thinks are a real team
Bayern Munich star player Thomas Muller has hailed Juventus as a great club before their first leg clash in the UEFA Champions League quarter final on Tuesday. The attacking midfielder has followed the Serie A winners closely for the past few seasons and appreciates them as a strong opponent.
“Juventus are a very strong team. They are a real team,” he told reporters. “They do not have a Lionel Messi, but they are strong as a team. There is a lot of quality in every part of the Juventus team.
“It will be extremely important not to concede a goal. All the offensive players will have to do their share of defensive work,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
He added: “We are concentrating hard and we know it will be difficult. Of course we are not expecting a 9-2 win again. This will be a completely different game to last Saturday against Hamburg.”
“Our last game against Juventus was a very important one. We won it and it was a kind of a turnaround in our season in 2009/2010. So I have really good memories,” he remembered.
“We are having a very strong season and I think we are quite confident as a team. I am looking forward to the game and I am confident we can win it,” he finally concluded.
Muller claimed Juventus do not possess any brilliant individuals such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but are good as a unit. He stated that the Italian outfit have quality players who give their best in all games. Therefore, it will be vital for Der FCB to keep a clean sheet.
