Musharraf’s nomination papers for Kasur’s NA seat rejected

Javed Kasuri advocate had raised six objections at Musharraf’s papers which also included abrogation of the constitution.
One of the objections stated that the ex-general does not meet the criteria established in Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
After hearing arguments, returning officer declared Musharraf ineligible to contest the elections.
Musharraf had submitted his nomination papers from the constituency NA-139 Kasur and was planning to contest elections from a constituency of each province.
The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal had also filed an application in the ECP against former Musharraf.
Musharraf violated the constitution of Pakistan several times, Iqbal argued.
Iqbal had requested the ECP to reject Musharraf’s papers and disqualify him from contesting the upcoming general elections.
Musharraf has also submitted nomination forms on NA seats in Chitral, Karachi and Islamabad.
