England striker, Theo Walcott, believes that his Arsenal should be more consistent if they want to progress and qualify for next year’s UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal FC is currently in great run of form. They outgunned Reading with a 4-1 victory. Gervinho opened the goal scoring sheet in the 11th minute and led his side take a 1-0 lead. The opening half went with the same score line. In the second half Gervinho carried his intensity and set up two goals. First Santi Cazorla found the net and then Olivier Giroud led his side take an unassailable 3-0 lead. Robson Kanu managed to snatch a goal back in the 69th minute but Arsenal remained focused. They were awarded a penalty in the 77th minute when Alex Oxlade Chamberlain was brought down. Mikel Arteta scored a spectacular goal with the penalty chance and eventually sealed the deal with a 4-1 score line.
The English International was delighted to see his side’s performance. He wants Gunners to carry their rhythm in the last few games left at the Barclays English Premier League. Only by this Arsenal will be able to occupy a spot in the top four and able to enter the UEFA Champions League next season.
The Arsenal striker was quoted in an interview to the Arsenal Player:
“If we get a bad result, you see a reaction. We shouldn’t have to get a bad result and then perform well in the next game. It should always be there. Mentally, they are very strong. We just need to do it every week – it’s as simple as that. There’s great potential there. We’ve had too much experience now to be challenging for fourth. We need to be challenging for the Premier League because that’s what we want to be known for. We want to be in the history books… we need to win something now.”
