Carolina Marin becomes Women’s Singles champion of 2013 Finnish Open

This grand finale was staged at the local badminton arena of Vantaa, Finland and both contenders kept the audience intact with a 32-minute show of skills.
The Spanish campaigner displayed superior badminton craft on court and locked the honour with an impressive result of 21-10 and 21-15.
Carolina established a strong grip by claiming the opening match point and then served a notice of her supremacy by pocketing the second match point in a row.
On the other hand, Beatriz failed to continue her successful run and surrendered tamely in both segments of the showdown.
The battle heated up when Carolina launched an intensive attack and bagged many valuable points without any interruption.
She did not lose focus and doubled her total in next couple of rallies. She kept on moving forward at steady pace and finished first half of the set with a favourable score position.
After the mid-game break, the Spanish player injected more intensity in her attack and confined her rival in the rear court.
She maintained a significant lead until the game point situation and registered an overwhelming total of 21-10.
The second set of match was not a one-sided affair as this time Beatriz showed some spark and made the crowd gasp.
She raised her chances of success by prevailing in few successive rallies and then amazed everyone with a splendid court craft before the interval.
However, her supremacy was really short lived as Carolina stormed back with a strong reply and tip the scale in her favour.
She played impeccable badminton in the final moments and sealed her straight-set victory with 21-15 score on the board.
