Mikel Arteta praised his Czech teammate after his spectacular form against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
Tomas Rosicky hit a brace to lead the Red Army to glory. He fired a stunning goal in the 30th minute and took his side to 1-0 up. The scores stayed the same in the opening half.
The Czech International stayed on target in the proceeding set. He netted another brilliant goal in the 50th minute and doubled the lead for Arsenal.
However, after 70th minute Per Mertesacker received a red card. As a result West Bromwich Albion were able to lower the trail after James Morrison scored the goal with penalty kick.
The Gunners were forced to play with 10 men after this but were able to ward off West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
Arteta was delighted with his side gaining all three points. He stated in an interview to the Arsenal Player:
“We dominated the game. We had the better chances but when Per was sent off and we gave a penalty away, it was game on and we had to hang on. Credit to the lads, we defended well and the goalkeeper made some really good saves. We’re delighted with the points. Tomas has got quality and he’s got a change of rhythm in the middle of the park that makes a difference. The fact that he made a difference here is massive for us.”
With this victory Arsenal slightly moved up to the fourth place at the Barclays English Premier League. However, the Gunners are currently standing at number fifth in the rankings. They are two points behind their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspurs but with a game in hand. In addition to this, they are also lagging two points against another London rivals, Chelsea.
Next in line for Gunners are the Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium.
