Bomb attack in Khuzdar kills four relatives of PML-N leader

At least four persons were killed and at least 25 others injured in a bomb attack on the convoy of PML-N provincial president‚ Sardar Sanaullah Zehri in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.

Zehri’s brother, son, nephew  and guard were killed at Gatt Pull in Tehsil Zehr in a remote-controlled bomb attack.

However‚ Sanaullah Zehri remained unhurt in the attack.

Five vehicles were damaged in this attack. There were 30 vehicles in the convoy.

Federal Interior Minister has sought a report from the IG Police Balochistan in this regard.

President Asif Alai Zardari and Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso have strongly condemned the attack on the convoy of PML(N) leader Sanaullah Zehri in Balochistan.

In their messages they said the Government would not allow terrorists to disrupt the electoral process through dastardly acts.

PML(N) President Nawaz Sharif has also condemned the attack and urged the government to provide complete security to election candidates.

No group claimed responsibility.

The Interior Ministry had earlier warned of attacks ahead of elections by the Taliban and two other groups in the country.

The attack has raised concerns about security ahead of the May 11 elections.

Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khosa has expressed shock and grief on learning of the death of brother, nephew and son of PML N Leader Sanaullah Zehri in an attack when his convoy was attacked while en route to Khuzdar.

Condemning the attack on the convoy, the PM directed the M/o Interior and the provincial government to submit a comprehensive report on the incident.

He has also directed that the security of all political leaders should be beefed up and adequate arrangements be made to prevent such incidents.

The PM also directed the authorities to provide assistance, in cooperation with   Mr. Sanullah Zehri, so that the injured are evacuated and relief is extended to them.
