Pre-election blasts kill 10 in KPK

The blasts took place near the election offices and a gathering.
In Kohat‚ 5 people were killed and 16 injured in blast outside the office of an Independent candidate from Orakzai Agency‚ Syed Noor Akbar.
Three people were killed and 10 injured in a blast in Peshawar near the office of an independent candidate from NA-46 Khyber Agency‚ Nasir Khan.
Two children were killed and three more people injured in an ANP meeting in Swabi.
The blasts occurred hours after a series of bomb blasts in Karachi, which killed nearly seven people.
The late Saturday’s three blasts targeted the offices of Pakistan Peoples Party, Mutahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party.
Taliban had threatened attacks on the three parties for their support to the security forces operations against the militants in the restive tribal regions.
The government in Sindh of which Karachi is the capital has convened a high level meeting on Sunday to chalk out a security plan ahead of the May 11 elections.
Taliban have increased their attacks in recent days, raising serious concerns about the peaceful elections.
