PML-N emerges largest party with 125, PTI 33 and PPP 31

Pakistan Muslim League (N) has emerged as the single largest party leading in 125 National Assembly constituencies, according to unofficial results.

 

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is leading in 33 national assembly constituencies and emerging as the second largest party followed by PPP (Parliamentarians) 31‚ MQM 13 and JUI (F) is leading in 10 National Assembly constituencies.

 

PML (N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif won two seats while PTI Chief Imran Khan also bagged two seats in the national assembly‚ according to the unconfirmed and unofficial results.

 

PML(N) stalwart Mian Shahbaz Sharif and PTI central leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi won from NA-129 and NA-48 respectively.

 

Faryal Talpur‚ Dr Farooq Sattar‚ Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah‚ Nabil Gabol‚ Sheikh Rashid‚ Dr Fehmida Mirza‚ Makhdoom Amin Fahim‚ Ahsan Iqbal‚ Sardar Ayaz Sadiq‚ Jahangir Tareen‚ Khurram Dastagir‚ Ghulam Sarwar Khan‚ Sikandar Bosan and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Raja Javed Ikhlas have also emerged as successful candidates.

 

Among the towering leaders who were made to bite the dust include former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and former Ministers Ghulam Ahmed Bilour‚ Faisal Saleh Hayyat‚ Amir Muqam‚ Qamar Zaman Kaira‚ Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan‚ Mian Manzoor Wattoo‚ Khurshid Kasuri‚ Syed Samsam Bukhari‚ Sardar Mehtab Abbasi‚ Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi‚ Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar‚ Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema and Shakeel Awan‚ Abdul Qadir Gilani‚ Dr Yasmin Rashid‚ Abrarul Haq and several others heavyweights who were prominent on the horizon of national politics.

 

The unconfirmed results declared PML-N as major political party winning the polls as the party led by Mian Nawaz Sharif virtually swept away the polls in central and upper parts of Punjab while it also performed well in parts of Southern Punjab.

 

The PTI almost demolished its opponents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the party which brought in as a new political force in the country turned tables on its adversaries and won most of national assembly seats in the militancy-hit province of KPK.
