Nawaz Sharif continues consultations on govt formation

The Pakistan Muslim League (N) Chief, Nawaz Sharif, Monday continued consultations with his top aides about formation of the government in center and Punjab, the PML spokesman said.

 

Talking to newsmen PML-N spokesman said they would contact all the political leaders to evolve a joint strategy to address the major national issues.

 

Senator Pervez Rashid said that the PML-N leaders are in Lahore for talks to form governments after the party emerged as the single largest party in the May 11 polls.

 

Party chief Nawaz Sharif decided to constitute committees to contact different political parties regarding the issues relating to the formation of government.

 

Former Law Minister, Punjab, Rana Sanaullah, meanwhile said that Shehbaz Sharif will be the next chief minister of Punjab.

 

Several independent members have met Nawaz Sharif and assured their support to the PML-N, the party sources said. Independent members will have three days to join any party in three days after the official results are to be announced.

 

Meanwhile, the JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, has spoken to Nawaz Sharif for government formation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 

PTI has emerged the single largest party in KPK however the JUI-F leader is struggling to form a coalition to stop PTI from forming the government.

 

The PTI also started contacts with other parties in KPK and its leader Pervez Khattak met Aftab Sherpao of Qaumi Watan Party and discussed possible cooperation in the province.

 

Khattak also conveyed a message to Sherpao from Imran Khan.

 

Jamaat-e-Islami has also conveyed a meeting in Peshawar to discuss possibility of cooperation with other parties in KPK.
