More independent MPs join PML-N
Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 2:47:33 by Tahir KhanAs the country is fast moving to transition, more independent members-elect Wednesday joined Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), raising the party’s number of seats to 220 seats in the National Assembly and 300 in the Punjab assembly.
Independent candidates will have choice of three days to join any political party after the announcement of official results.
Several independent candidates joined the PML-N are from Balochistan, Kohistan and Swabi as the PML-N strengthened position in the assemblies.
Meanwhile a delegation of PML-N meets Sherazi brothers in Thatha and invited Shafqat Sherazi and his colleagues to join PML-N.
Sherazi group had parted ways with the PPP ahead of the elections over serious differences.
Meanwhile Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian met Nawaz Sharif in Lahore and congratulated him on the PML-N victory in elections.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan attaches high importance to its relations with China‚ which has always cooperated with it.
He said that Pakistan and China are linked in a relationship of closed friendship.
Both the sides discussed avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
The Chinese ambassador hoped that Pak-China relations will further be strengthened during his tenure.
