Monday, May 20th, 2013 11:17:11 by Tahir KhanParliamentary meeting of the newly-elected members of PML-N is being held in Lahore later on Monday to chalk out strategy regarding formation of government.
The meeting to be chaired by PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif will also discuss priorities on national and public issues.
Independent parliamentarians-elect‚ who have joined PML-N‚ will also attend the meeting.
This is the first meeting of the PML-N after the May 11 elections. The PML-N had emerged the single largest party in the elections.
Later several independent MNAs-elect joined the PML-N enabling it to secure simple majority to form government in the center. The most important was the joining of the Legharis from Dera Ghazi Khan and Sherazis from Thatha in Sindh.
The party is also in talks with the JUI-F for a coalition government. Both parties have held at least two round of talks, however, they have not yet reached any agreement.
The Monday’s meeting is likely to discuss the government formation in the center, Punjab as well as Balochistan.
The PML-N has no problem in govt formation in Punjab but it has not yet succeeded to settle issues with the future allies in Balochistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PML-N will possibly sit on opposition benches with JUI-F.
In Sindh the PML-N will sit on opposition benches with PML-F.
Meanwhile, PML like Minded leader Saleem Saif-ullah called on Nawaz Sharif & discussed current political situation & matters of mutual interest
