Nawaz Sharif vows to steer the country out of crisis

Addressing a “Yaum-e-Takbeer” function in Lahore‚ he said his government will ascertain the reason for the problem.
He said that the acute power shortage has crippled the national economy and the common man’s life.
Nawaz Sharif said his government will make sincere efforts to steer the country out of grave challenge and crises. He called upon the people to remain patient because issues like power crisis could require considerable time to subside.
“We have already started a march in the right direction and the issues would be resolved soon”.
He said the coal-based power stations will require at least three and half years for becoming functional. Thar coal reserves are sufficient to meet country’s power requirements for at least one century.
Expressing his satisfaction over the election results‚ Nawaz Sharif termed the outcome as a prudent decision by the nation. People in Punjab have given a mature decision.
It was based upon emotional outcome in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ traditional in Sindh while the situation in Balochistan is in PML-N’s favour despite tribal traditions.
He said the whole world has seen a bright face of Pakistan in this democratic exercise.
About Chinese premier Li Keqiang’s recent visit to Pakistan‚ the PML-N chief said he has chalked out a new revolutionary economic programme in consultations with the Chinese Premier and it will go a long way in overcoming the problems of unemployment.
Nawaz Sharif said new projects will be launched to create employment opportunities and provide shelter to the shelterless.
He said besides China‚ cooperation of friendly countries like Turkey is being sought for new power plants to be set up in the country. He said he will personally monitor the progress on these projects to ensure their timely completion.
