Khoso vacates PM house for new leader
Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 12:13:04 by Tahir KhanCaretaker Prime Minister, Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, vacated the Prime Minister House, for a new leader just a day before the election of the Leader of the House in the National Assembly.
The National Assembly will elect new premier on Wednesday and he will be sworn in the evening.
Khoso was appointed as the caretaker Prime Minister on March 24 at the completion of the five-year term by the Pakistan Peoples Party. He served as interim PM for 17 days.
A farewell guard of honor was presented to the caretaker Prime Minister at Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
A smartly turned out contingent of the armed forces presented the guard of honor. National Anthem was also played on the occasion.
The outgoing Prime Minister shook hand with the staff of the PM house and thanked for their cooperation.
The retired judge 84, was selected by the Election Commission of Pakistan after a parliamentary committee and rival parties failed to agree on a candidate.
The PPP government had proposed Khoso and a former central bank governor Dr Ishrat Husain, while the PML-N put forward the name of another retired judge Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and a politician Rasool Bux Paliejo.
