The ATC judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon awarded life jail term to two other accused Ghulam Murtaza Lashari and Sajajd Talpur.
Twenty-year-old Shahzeb Khan was shot dead on the night of December 24, 2012 when he was returning home along with his sister after attending a wedding.
Shahzeb, son of a police officer, was murdered reportedly after he had an altercation with one of the suspects’ servant who had allegedly given verbal threats to the victim’s sister.
Shahrukh Jatoi, Nawab Siraj Ali Talpur, his younger brother Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur and their house servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari were charged with killing Shahzeb in the city’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The case had attracted much media attention after the Supreme Court took a suo motu notice of the murder.
The ATC judge also imposed a five lakh rupees fine on each convict.
The convicts have a week time to appeal in the High Court, lawyers said.
“We will file appeal within seven appeal as we are not satisfied with the verdict,” defence lawyers of the accused said. He said that two witnesses were given up whose statements were important.
The convicts were smiling after the verdict and waved to the relatives when they were being boarded in the police vehicles.
The court also announced jail term to Shahrukh Jatoi for possessing illegal arms.
Three accused are still at large and police have failed to arrest them.
